Jewel-Osco is ringing in the Lunar New Year with food and drink tastings, lion dance performances, live music and more!
As Lunar New Year is an important holiday to the Chinese community, Jewel-Osco wanted to show not only that they value this community, but that shoppers can come to the store as a one-stop shop to celebrate their joyous occasion!
To connect with the Chinese community in Chicago, we created a program at Jewel-Osco to ring in the New Year. This included in-store product highlights, custom bottle engravings in Mandarin, live traditional Chinese music, children’s activities, bringing in community partners such as local libraries, and traditional welcome giveaways!
Kids activities! They played with tangram, cut out paper Chinese characters, and tried picking up snacks with chopsticks
Shoppers were able to get their name written in Chinese calligraphy
Guests were greeted with mandarin oranges, bamboo sticks, plus a red envelope that held a Jewel-Osco coupon
